THE WELL FISH EXAM

Why bring a fish in even if it looks healthy?

The aquatic environment is made up of water and this is what your fish lives, eats and sleeps in. Water is a great solvent and many things are dissolved in water such as oxygen, nutrients and salts and this is why fish and plants are able to grow in water. However, there are also potential nasties that can accumulate in the water that cannot be seen. As such it is strongly recommended that A MONTHLY WATER TEST be conducted.

Many diseases in fish are often not a single fish problem. Water is a great medium for the transference of diseases. Parasites, bacteria and viruses can spread through the entire aquarium virtually in an instant. As such, it is very important that veterinary advice be sought even before you see the first signs of trouble. The least healthy fish and the newest introductions should be brought in to the veterinary clinic for a health check, together with aquarium water for testing.

As you know, it is much better to stay healthy than try and recover from a sickness. More information is available on this website.
